Green Peanut Butter Smoothie

Don't led astray by the green color of this smoothie.

Yes, it does contain spinach. But I promise you, it tastes so good that you won't mind it. 

Adding banana and apple guarantees a sweet taste while peanut butter adds the extra creaminess.

Flax seeds and oats help to create that nice, thick texture and cinnamon contributes to the delicious flavor. 

So, let's look at how you can make this recipe today! 


1 serving

  • 1 cup spinach*
  • 1 small banana (can be frozen)
  • 1 apple
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 tsp peanut butter**
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water or plant-based milk
  • Small slice of fresh ginger (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (optional)


  1. Pure half of the water or plant-based milk to a blender. 
  2. Add flax seeds, cinnamon, peanut butter, oats and ginger (if using).
  3. Cover with spinach, banana and apple.
  4. Add rest of the liquid and ice cubes.
  5. Blend until smooth and serve. If you are using oats you might want to add a bit more liquid.

* Feel free to use more spinach if you like it. You can also use kale instead. 

** When buying peanut butter, check the labels and make sure it contains only peanuts. Many brands add palm oil, salt, sugar or other additives.
