High-Performance Vegan Letters

The 5 categories of health (never discussed):

letters Mar 06, 2025

I wanted to shake things up for this week.

As I said last week, I want to share more personal stories and insights. Many of you relate to these, and I’ll also include proven principles and methods.

I'm happy to do this.

Today, I wanted to share a brief excerpt from my upcoming book 'The High Performance Vegan Secrets.'

I have 15 years of fitness experience, 7 years of being vegan, and a lifetime of mistakes and lessons.

I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I've enjoyed writing it.

Here's the excerpt:

Today, health issues are common. Many people feel tired and lack energy and don't know how to improve their fitness and health.

The average person is overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy.

Traditional health methods often depend on quick fixes. These solutions usually fade by February.

Health statistics show that more than 50% of Americans could be overweight or obese by 2030.

Sadly, the rest of the world will follow closely behind. It’s a matter of when, not if.

What if you could fuel your body with plants? You could build lasting strength from within and inspire others, too.

Meet the high-performance vegan. This way of living is more than food and workouts. It focuses on lasting health, energy, and a sense of purpose.

It might sound too simple or even too good to be true, but it’s entirely possible.

This guide will help you. Whether you're plant-based, adding more plants, or aiming for a healthier, sustainable lifestyle, I can help.

So, what is a high-performance vegan?

It's someone who thrives on plants, sets an example, and inspires their family, friends, and community to be healthy.

A health-focused person values well-being in all areas of life. They strive to improve themselves and positively affect the world.

Anyone can become a high-performance vegan.

It doesn’t mean you must devote your life to the gym or the kitchen.

A high-performance vegan doesn’t need a fully plant-based diet or be the ‘perfect’ vegan.

It’s about progress, not perfection. Take charge of your health and life. Use plants, either fully or partially, to fuel your body.

It means you embody health and strength for yourself and others.

It's for current vegans, those who want to be vegans, or anyone looking to add more plants to their diet.

In essence, a high-performance vegan is a health role model.

This is your chance to shine in a world that needs more good examples of well-being.

To become a high-performance vegan, focus on five key areas. These go beyond diet and exercise.

They create a plan for lasting health, strength, and personal growth.

The five core categories are:

#1 Deep health: True well-being isn’t just about the body. It also involves mental, emotional, and social health. Deep health means thriving in all aspects of life.

#2 Plant-based nutrition: Fuel your body with whole, nutrient-rich plant foods. They boost energy, enhance performance, and support lasting health.

#3 High-performance fitness: Build your strength, endurance, and mobility to stay active and strong. A balanced fitness routine promotes long-term health and vitality.

#4 Depth psychology: Understanding your thoughts, feelings, and actions is key to breaking mental barriers and building resilience.

#5 Self-mastery: True success comes from within. Self-mastery involves discipline and mindset. It means taking charge of your health, habits, and future.

The five pillars form a roadmap for better health and performance. They help you become the strongest and healthiest version of yourself.

This roadmap will guide you through the book.

The path toward mastery starts with the first step.

Yet, most of us incorrectly focus on the wrong health and fitness priorities.

Macros and workouts are a small part of a large puzzle.

Understanding your psyche and inner world is part of self-mastery.

Growth comes in waves. It’s not a linear journey.

Challenges will always arise no matter where you are in your self-mastery journey.

These ups and downs make the journey worthwhile.

You are the hero of your own story.

I’ll serve as your guide, but ultimately, you must choose your path.

Excerpt End:

Most of us think of health as having a short-term horizon.

What if you saw your health and life in bigger chunks?

Instead of thinking in weeks or months, think in years and decades.

Who do you want to be in the next 5 years?

How do you envision your body in the next 10 years?

What kind of impact do you want on those you love and support?

What's the best version of you look like each day?

Most of us are so disconnected from our dream vision that this exercise can be difficult for many.

But imagination is one of your higher mental faculties.

Just because you haven't used it in a while doesn't mean it's not there.

Training your mind is the same as training your body.

You need to use the muscles to make them stronger.

Start seeing yourself the way you want to be.

Start today.

Sending you my best,
